About the Project
LIFT is committed to working holistically with individuals, families, and the community using a whole-family approach, guided by the Key Working model.
Our aims & objectives are to help families develop new skills to improve their lives, while ensuring children grow up feeling loved, safe, and respected—reaching their full potential.
Through support and advocacy, LIFT tackles child poverty and works to increase the wellbeing of individuals and families, helping them move forward from poverty and crises. This is achieved through a mix of one-on-one support and group work sessions. Group activities include upskilling, cooking on a budget, budgeting, confidence building, and employability skills. LIFT follows the Every Child, Every Chance model, working towards reducing child poverty, improving employment and training opportunities, and helping families move forward from poverty and crises.
Our Base is a safe, welcoming environment where you can use computers, receive form-filling support, enjoy a tea or coffee, and access a mobile charging station.
Support is available from our staff on request—whether it’s help filling in a form, making a phone call on your behalf, emotional support on tough days, or anything else you need.
We also have a free food-sharing shelf with a variety of items, topped up daily.
Additionally, our 6 items for £2 sharing shelf is available through Base staff on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Memberships are available year-round, at £2 per family. To become a member, just pop in, and a staff member will assist you.
